Mkhitaryan In Tears As He Bids Good-Bye To Man United Teammates Ahead Of Arsenal Move

Henrikh Mkhitaryan sheds in tears as he bid his final farewell to his Manchester United team-mates and club staff at Carrington on Friday, paving way for Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez moved.

When manager Jose Mourinho faced the media at 12.45pm earlier in the day, he told reporters that there was “nothing new” to report.

Mourinho however confirmed that the Armenia midfielder has been left of his squad that will travel to Burnley.

However, just over an hour later, Mkhitaryan said goodbyes following what is expected to be his last training session with the club.

“It was very tearful. Henrikh has been a very popular figure here at United.

“We know he isn’t too happy at the way this deal has been forced upon him. He realises he has more chance of playing at Arsenal, but he would have preferred to leave on his own terms,” a United source told The Mail.

The Armenia international has struggled for consistency during his 18 months at Old Trafford, impressing in the Europa League but flopping when it comes to domestic football.

Mourinho is happy to cut the 28-year-old loose having regularly exiled him since the player’s arrival from Borussia Dortmund in June 2016.

The player had made just three appearances before Mourinho dropped him for three months last season.

Alexis Sanchez will finally become a Manchester United player after Henrikh Mkhitaryan agreed to join Arsenal in a swap deal.
